What is an enhanced rental?

Enhanced is a label shown when choosing a rental. It identifies services that support SMS sending, both SMS and voice reception, or all three. Check the selected service's capabilities: the Enhanced label alone does not guarantee SMS sending.

What is SMS Send?

SMS Send lets you send an outgoing text message from a rental that supports SMS sending to any phone number. It is a rental-only function not included with every Enhanced rental. Enter the destination and your message in the SMS composer, then submit your send.

Why is the limit different for verified shortcodes?

Verified shortcodes have a separate sending allowance from standard phone numbers. They are destinations on a list maintained by Textverified; sends to those destinations are counted separately, so using one category does not affect your limit for the other. If a shortcode is unverified, it will be counted against your standard phone-number limit instead.

Both limits use a rolling seven-day window. Each category tracks sends made during the preceding seven days, rather than resetting on a fixed day of the week.

Your SMS composer shows both current limits. Sending SMS may subtract from either limit. Textverified reserves the right to audit and restrict destinations as needed.

What are SMS shortcodes?

SMS shortcodes are shorter numeric destinations that organizations use to send and receive high-volume text messages. Common uses include sign-in codes, account alerts, delivery updates, promotions, and customer support.

What does “verified” mean here?

Textverified maintains a list of shortcodes eligible for the separate verified-shortcode sending limit. A destination is not necessarily verified or supported just because it contains 4-8 digits. The list may change at any time without notice.
